Modern day commercial cattle operations have radically changed the diet of cattle from grass to grain. So the meat we find in the market has changed as well; with these changes most of the natural nutrition in beef has been lost.

Grass-fed beef (no grain at all) has less fat, saturated and otherwise.

Grass-fed beef has fewer calories and more omega-3 fatty acids which are vital for good cardiovascular function.

Grass-fed beef is very high in CLA conjugated linoleic acid. This is a natural cancer-fighting substance.

Grass-fed beef also has a much higher amount of beta-carotene which, aside from its many health benefits, gives the little fat that there is a pleasant creamy color.

We really urge you to get Jo Robinsons book Why Grassfed is best or visit her web sight at http://www.eatwild.com. She has a number of articles there. A lot of our information has come from her book. You can not find grass finished beef in any grocery store.

So what are some practical differences between grass-fed & feedlot beef?
